ok, thanks guys, all sorted now

Was it not possible to join using the light version before? I'm sure I was using the light as I don't use the brake bias feature...

    Yes, it is.

    I don't hope that.
In case you can reproduce it please let me know in which way it happens. But please do not post it here, but private (send me a pm or so).

By the way: Nice to hear that you will reinforce the Lotus troop again (especially because Andre' has left us).

Good stuff , not to be a demanding and nagging sort of a type but is it possible to make 36 fps versions of the new dg version?

...is it possible to make 36 fps versions of the new dg version?
I have to say: At this time I'm against it.
    It has three reasons:
1a: As I said in an other thread I took some years before I had enough courage to increase the slipstream, because it should be possible to produce faster laptimes.
I'm happy about the fact that slipstreaming with AI drivers in 60fps isn't possible. So it's not so easy to set a new PB.
1b: I have an ulterior motive: I'm a fan of online racing. I hope the only in online races usable additional slipstream will motivate more guys to drive online (not only our official races, the practice session too).
And if other drivers see more often drivers at our server maybe they would animated to drive in HIES league races with us.
2: There are 36fps dg versions since three years. I haven't heard that anything about a 36fps dg league. Exactly this was my prognosis. Most GPL guys are very conservative and these that driving with 36fps 10 years after the 60fps patch are more than this. They are C O N S E R V A T I V E. So I think it would be work for nothing.

What is the background of your question, Dag? Maybe you can change my mind...But it's not easy I think…

No worries , if its a lot of work then dont worry about it. I use the 36 version when practicing offline against the AI. Long runs and such are more fun in traffic. I can still use the 71 version for this so no problem.

Based on the wear rate from Balcarce I would say that we are closer to the edge but not close enough.

I would really like the dirtgear81 patch to be the patch we drive with from next season. Then we max out wear and we get increased slipstream and new damage model on top.

Olaf : Do you have a download where all the new stuff is gathered in one package? (dg8 + dg81 etc..)

I'm not sure if it's good to publish too much versions at the same time to avoid confusion.
Basically my idea was to update the link in srmz in december or so. Then I would delete pitstop7.1(dg) and dg8 and put only dg8.1 in the Programm folder (in case enough hies Drivers voted for v8.1).

Before this point I think if anyone would try out version8.1 he can find it here in this forum - I hope.

Edit: I put the link to version8.1 at the end of the first post in this thread.

Ok , I will post a download link to both versions here in the forum as well as we go forwards and then all should have it tested and ready for january 2020.

As for which version we land on we can have a vote when its time , December or so. Its either 8.0 with wear as it is now or 8.1 with increased wear. I want the 8.1 version but lets see what the field has to say when we get there.

I ran a offline test on road america with the dirtgear81 patch. Filled it up to 25 laps (approx 1 hour) and drove 29 laps before I ran out of fuel and the car was not impossible to drive. Uncomfortable for sure but still on track with some grip. Probably a few more laps until it completely fell off.

This was in training mode which provides the same wear rate as we drive with in the races. My laptimes did however suffer , in particular the last ten laps. They say less is more but I think more is more..
