To squeeze out a fast lap with the Honda is one thing, but man at some tracks really suffer in racetrim. Too much fuel/weight and hard to keep the balance when pushing. And often engine/gearbox management...

Initially the start was good but shifted too early into 2nd gear and lost momentum. Held the outside at T1 and held on to P2. Dag was close behind and I pushed for a little gap to the backstraight. Sadly on lap 2 Dag spun and lost a lot of time and places. From then ran a lonely race. André was too fast in front and the gap to Rainer behind grew.

I was disappointed not to get into the 2m01s in the race. Even so, it wouldn't have mattered. André even could afford a little touch with the barriers and spin. Late race had to lap Tago (thanks) and settled for P2. Have to say I was lucky again with the engine, like at Imola.

Grats André, and well done Rainer for podium. Good recovery Dag. Thanks all for racing

    Grats to all finishers!

    Qualifying
Pushed to hard trying to get in a 1:58 lap, and in the end I did not manage to get a clean lap in. Happy that I still got pole.

    Race
An okey start, and I knew I had a good balance in the race setup that allowed me to pull away to a comfortable gap quite early.
Really happy with the race pace and my own performance up until I had the spin. Luckily I did not damage the car and could continue, with a loss of only 9 seconds.
From there on I could really feel the tire degradation, but managed to keep it together all the way to the end.

See you all in Funabashi In 2 weeks time.

PS: Qualifying server is up and running.

Grats podium and finishers! Very well-done driving!

We are faster, interesting to compare the laptimes a half years ago. Everybody from that race has improving and as an example, my practice time more than two seconds better, fastest race lap more than one second.

    Testing:
A challenge track is easier now, great fun. Did improving and happy for that.

    Qual:
Did ok time, not too risky pace to match my best.

    Race:
Great and fun driving. After first lap I had gap behind and in front of me. Dag was climbing up after his spin and when the Eagle-sound was to hear from behind, I was ready to let him overtake. I had a better exit to the straight and make a little gap there. In the twisty sections I was slow over the crest and did a little mistake, coming outside of track. If Dag hadn’t overtaking there, he had the pace to do it later at this lap anyway. Fun to fight against the car too at the limit, more and more slippery. I had a good setup and was able to make a smooth driving style in these 22 laps.

    Thanks for race!

We missed you Pelle but I suppose you shouldnt drink and drive so we will see you at Funabashi instead. Good to see that Iestyn was back after missing a couple of races.

I came into this race with not much practice or a working setup so my hopes werent that high to begin with. Lost the rear on lap 2 as I was chasing Robert and had to take a small detour onto the grass. Had to let the whole field by and came out last so P4 wasnt bad from there. I was catching Rainer as well but I ran out of laps so the podium wasnt to be. Fun race though. See you fine gents in Japan in two weeks.
